Continue reading for some easy tips on cleaning your oven.
Before You Begin Cleaning an Oven
Before you begin, make sure the oven is off, and the inside is cooled. Trying to clean while the oven is hot can result in injury. Decide if you want to use natural products to clean the oven or if you would instead use a chemical oven cleaning solution. Below tips are available for cleaning using the natural option.
Step 1: How to Clean an Oven With a Homemade Solution
The most effective solution to clean an oven is easy to make. It would help if you had baking soda, water, white vinegar, a damp cloth, rubber gloves, and a spray bottle. To make your solution, combine ½ a cup of baking soda with a few tablespoons of water in a small bowl.
Step 2: Paste the Solution On the Interior of the Oven
The next step would be to spread the paste all over the inside of the oven. Wear rubber gloves to avoid any grime from getting on your fingers. At this point, it is common for the paste to turn a brown color once it is sitting on the build-up. Make sure to cover every part of the oven in the paste, including the glass door.
For the best results, it is recommended to let the paste sit overnight. Remove the oven racks, soak them for two hours and then scrub them with soap and water.
Step 3: Wipe Down the Oven
After the paste has had the night to set in the oven, you can begin to wipe it off. Use the damp cloth to wipe off the baking soda and the grime. If there are any hardened areas, use a spatula to scrape them off. Be careful not to scratch the oven.
Step 4: How to Clean an Oven With Vinegar
To finish cleaning the oven, add white vinegar to a spray bottle and spray it inside the oven. You should then give the interior one final wipe down to ensure all grime and baking soda are gone. When finished, insert the racks again.
